I started going to wine clubs around 2006 after my friend held her birthday party at one. Since then I would promote the option at workplace and for hen nights and similar. Depending on the occasion a right kind of wine club should be chosen though… some are very upscale and not for super relaxed events… In California area there are many clubs that I liked. Several of the clubs can cater for different types of events and give wine gifts to participants, which is something nice to take home from the wine tasting event. One of the best wine club experiences I had was in Southern California where a hotel was situated next to the club so we could stay the night there and we got a wine gift or 3 small bottled to take home with us. The venue was nicely old fashioned in style and the staff very warm, it affected our experience a great deal… When I am asked for my hobbies I tell them wine clubbing!
